DRDO Successfully Tests Integrated Life Support System (ILSS) for Tejas Fighter Jet
  • The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted high-altitude trials of an Integrated Life Support System (ILSS) for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas.
  • Developed by Defence Bio-Engineering & Electro Medical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bengaluru, the ILSS features an On-Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS), eliminating the need for liquid oxygen cylinders.
  • The system was tested at altitudes up to 50,000 feet, proving its ability to sustain pilots under extreme conditions.
  • The ILSS is expected to be integrated into other fighter jets, including the MiG-29K.
