Google DeepMind’s Morni AI Project to Cover 125 Indic Languages

Google DeepMind’s India division is leading an ambitious AI initiative called Morni (Multimodal Representation for India), which aims to include 125 Indic languages and dialects.
Speaking at the Global Fintech Fest, Manish Gupta, Director of Google DeepMind India, emphasized that 73 of these languages currently lack any digital corpus.
Despite Hindi being spoken by nearly 10% of the global population, its representation in online text is a mere 0.1%.
