  • The Indian government has formed an inter-ministerial panel tasked with formulating the roadmap for the National Manufacturing Mission.

  • This initiative was initially introduced in the Union Budget of February 2025.

  • The mission aims to revitalize the country’s manufacturing landscape and aligns with the broader objectives of the Make in India initiative.

  • Its core focus is to raise the manufacturing sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP and overall economic development.

National Archives of India Acquires Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Private Papers

  • The National Archives of India (NAI) has obtained a valuable collection of personal documents belonging to Late President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

  • These include important items such as his personal correspondences, passport, Aadhaar card, PAN card, tour records, and lecture transcripts.

  • The documents were donated by Dr. Kalam’s niece APJM Nazema Maraikayar and grandnephew Shri APJMJ Sheik Saleem.

  • The official agreement was signed by Shri Arun Singhal (IAS), Director General of NAI, and APJM Nazema Maraikayar.

Action Plan 2025 for River Cities Alliance Approved by NMCG

  • The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has officially sanctioned the Action Plan 2025 aimed at rejuvenating urban rivers under the River Cities Alliance (RCA) initiative.

  • The RCA is a collaborative project spearheaded by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

  • The alliance now includes 145 cities, each committed to incorporating river-conscious planning into their urban development agendas.

Meesho to Change Indian Parent Entity Name to Meesho Private Limited

  • The board of directors at Meesho has given the green light to rename its Indian legal entity from Fashnear Technologies to Meesho Private Limited.

  • To initiate this change formally, the company has submitted the necessary paperwork to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).

  • Alongside this, Meesho has also made a submission to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), marking a key step in its corporate reorganization efforts, particularly the redomiciling process.

  • After completing this transformation, Meesho Pvt Ltd will officially serve as the primary entity overseeing its e-commerce marketplace operations.

  • The company emphasized that this rebranding will bring the company’s legal identity in line with its widely recognized brand name, thus enhancing brand awareness, strengthening trust among stakeholders, and reinforcing its strategic market position.

  • This development follows a trend seen with companies like Zepto, which recently rebranded its legal entity from Kiranakart Technologies Pvt Ltd to Zepto Pvt Ltd.

  • In its March annual report, Meesho highlighted a substantial 34% year-over-year increase in orders during the April–December 2024 period, reaching a record 1.3 billion orders.

  • By the end of December 2024, Meesho had 187 million unique annual transacting users, representing a 26% increase compared to the previous year.
