Supreme Court Forms National Task Force to Tackle Student Mental Health Issues
The Supreme Court of India has constituted a National Task Force to address the rising mental health challenges faced by students in higher education institutions.
This initiative follows a disturbing trend of student suicides, including two reported at IIT Delhi in 2023.
Headed by Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, the task force will:
Examine academic pressure, caste discrimination, and structural institutional issues.
Review existing laws and policies related to mental health and student welfare.
Propose effective interventions to prevent student suicides.
The task force will include representatives from key ministries such as Higher Education, Social Justice, Legal Affairs, and Women & Child Development.
Jan Aushadhi Kendras Cross 15,000 Milestone
Under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, 15,057 Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been opened as of February 28, 2025.
These centers aim to provide affordable, high-quality generic medicines to citizens.

Indonesia to Become Member of the New Development Bank
Indonesia has officially decided to join the New Development Bank (NDB)—a multilateral institution formed by BRICS countries.

S&P Cuts India’s FY26 GDP Growth Forecast to 6.5%
S&P Global has revised India’s GDP growth forecast for FY26 down to 6.5% from its earlier projection of 6.7%.

Reliance Industries Ltd has acquired full ownership of Nauyaan Tradings Pvt Ltd for ₹1 lakh, through its arm Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Ltd.
NTPL is set to purchase a 74% stake in Nauyaan Shipyard Pvt Ltd (NSPL) for ₹382.73 crore, with the transaction expected to conclude.
NSPL has a total enterprise value of ₹643.78 crore, including a debt of ₹126.57 crore.
The move aligns with RIL’s strategic expansion in:
Naval and defense infrastructure,

BHIM 3.0 Announced by NPCI BHIM Services Limited
