  • This update comes under the Income Tax (Eleventh Amendment) Rules, 2025, modifying the Income Tax Rules, 1962.

  • The luxury goods subject to this tax include:

    1. Wristwatches

    2. Artworks such as antiques, paintings, and sculptures

    3. Collectibles like coins and stamps

    4. Yachts, rowing boats, canoes, and helicopters

    5. Sunglasses

    6. Handbags and purses

    7. Footwear

    8. Sportswear and equipment, including golf kits and ski-wear

    9. Home theatre systems

    10. Horses used in race clubs and for polo
