Union Health Department Observes Fire Safety Week 2025

SEBI Revises NAV Cut-Off Timings for Overnight Mutual Fund Schemes
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has updated the NAV (Net Asset Value) cut-off times for redemption or repurchase of units in Overnight Mutual Fund Schemes (MFOS).
This change is designed to benefit stock brokers (SBs) and clearing members (CMs), allowing them to un-pledge their units and initiate redemption requests even after market hours.
If applications are received by 3 PM, the NAV applicable will be that of the previous business day’s closing.
For applications submitted after 3 PM, the NAV of the following business day will be considered.
Separate provisions apply to online submissions, for which a cut-off time of 7 PM has been specified.
These updated rules will be enforced starting June 1.
RBI Mandates Banks to Switch to ‘bank.in’ Domains by October 31
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has mandated that all banks must shift their online operations to domains ending in ‘.bank.in’ by October 31, 2025.
The directive is aimed at bolstering cybersecurity in the banking sector and enhancing user trust in digital platforms.
The requirement is a response to rising cyber threats and aims to prevent online fraud and misuse.
Banks are expected to upgrade their IT infrastructure to align with this initiative and ensure smooth and secure services.
The RBI released a circular on April 22 referring to a February 7 policy titled “Enhancing Trust in the Financial Sector through ‘bank.in’ and ‘fin.in’ domains.”
The Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), in coordination with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will facilitate the registration and migration process.

Don Pettit Returns to Earth at Age 70 After Space Mission
Don Pettit, the oldest active astronaut from the U.S., returned safely to Earth on his 70th birthday, April 21, 2025.
The landing took place in Kazakhstan via Soyuz MS-26, which brought Pettit and two Russian astronauts back from the International Space Station (ISS).
The mission lasted 220 days, and with this, Pettit has now accumulated 590 days in space over four missions.
Though not the oldest person to venture into space (John Glenn holds that title at age 77), Pettit’s continued contributions to space exploration are celebrated as extraordinary.
Klaus Schwab Resigns as Chairman of the World Economic Forum
Klaus Schwab, who established the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 1971, has stepped down from his role as Chairman and Board Member.

Ambuja Cements Acquires Major Stake in Orient Cement
Ambuja Cements, under the Adani Group, has completed the acquisition of a 37.8% promoter stake in Orient Cement Limited (OCL).
This acquisition raises Ambuja Cements’ total shareholding in OCL to 46.66%.

National Panchayati Raj Day 2025 Observed on April 24
April 24 is celebrated annually as National Panchayati Raj Day in India.
