State Bank of India to Establish AI & Fintech Project Finance Unit
  • The State Bank of India is setting up a “Center of Excellence for Project Financing”, which will focus on providing financial support to emerging industries such as Artificial Intelligence , e-commerce, and fintech.
  • This initiative will expand SBI’s Project Finance and Structuring division, which has traditionally been responsible for financing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • To manage this specialized unit, SBI will recruit industry experts with expertise in project financing for modern sectors.
Flipkart-backed Super.money Joins the Top Five UPI Apps in India: NPCI Data
  • Super.money, a UPI payment app supported by Flipkart Group, has become the fifth-largest UPI app in India, surpassing Cred, which has now slipped to the sixth position, as per NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) data.
  • UPI achieved a major milestone when its daily transaction value exceeded ₹1 lakh crore, reaching an all-time high of ₹1,01,628 crore.

New Crew Arrives at ISS to Replace Astronauts Stranded for Nine Months
  • A SpaceX Dragon capsule successfully transported four new astronauts to the International Space Station, allowing Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to finally return home after being stranded for nine months.
  • The Dragon spacecraft docked with the ISS at 4:04 AM (UK time), following a 29-hour journey from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
  • The new team consists of NASA’s Anne McClain, Nichole Ayers, Japan’s Takuya Onishi, and Russia’s Kirill Peskov.
  • They will replace the Crew-9 astronauts and stay aboard the ISS for six months.
Reason for Wilmore and Williams’ Extended Stay
  • Their mission was initially planned for eight days, but their Boeing Starliner spacecraft experienced technical failures.
  • NASA ruled that the spacecraft was unsafe for reentry, leading to their extended stay until an alternative spacecraft arrived.
  • Their replacement vehicle arrived in September 2024, with two empty seats reserved for their return.
