China to Construct First Deepwater ‘Space Station’ in South China Sea
  • The Chinese government has officially sanctioned the construction of a deep-sea research facility in the South China Sea.
  • The submerged facility, referred to as a “deep-sea space station”, will be positioned at a depth of 2,000 meters (6,560 feet).
  • The research station will focus on marine exploration while simultaneously expanding China’s strategic and geopolitical presence in the resource-rich South China Sea.
  • Expected to be fully operational by 2030, it will accommodate six scientists for month-long missions, facilitating real-time deep-sea experiments.

PM Modi Receives Starship Heatshield Tile from Elon Musk

India to Host First Regional Social Justice Dialogue in 2025
