India-Italy Enhance Strategic Ties with Focus on Trade, Defence & Connectivity
India and Italy have taken further steps to deepen their Strategic Partnership through collaboration in trade, defence, clean energy, and connectivity sectors.
A key area of focus is the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC), along with a roadmap under the Joint Strategic Action Plan (JSAP) 2025–29.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani visited India, emphasizing bilateral cooperation in high-tech sectors, space exploration, digital innovation, and the shared objective of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
Outcomes include technology transfer, youth exchange programs, and Italy’s decision to appoint a special envoy for IMEEC, showcasing the progress since the Strategic Partnership announcement in 2023.

Second National Horticulture Expo 2081 Successfully Concludes in Nepal
The Second National Horticulture Expo 2081 took place over four days at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.
The event featured a wide variety of commercial nursery displays such as flowers, fruits, agricultural plants, forestry species, and herbs.
It attracted gardening and plant enthusiasts from across the country.
APEDA and Arunachal Pradesh Host Global Agri Conclave in Tawang
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), in association with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, conducted an International Conclave cum Buyer-Seller Meet (IBSM) at Kalawangpo Convention Hall in Tawang.
The conclave’s objective was to promote exports of agricultural and processed food products from Arunachal Pradesh and the wider North-Eastern Region (NER).
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, in his keynote address, emphasized development in agriculture and allied fields, and reiterated support for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and women-led rural development.
‘Mumbai 1’ Smart Card Launched to Integrate Urban Transport
Mumbai introduced the Mumbai 1 Smart Card, aimed at simplifying urban transit by providing one-card access to local trains, metro, monorail, and BEST bus services.
The initiative was announced jointly by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
This is part of a larger urban mobility reform effort for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

P. Sivakami Honoured with Verchol Dalit Literary Award 2025

The ship carried 44 naval officers from nine Friendly Foreign Nations (FFNs) in the Indian Ocean Region.

Defence Minister Sanjay Seth Attends AIKEYME 2025 in Tanzania
