  • This licence allows Kuhoo to provide loans directly from its own books in addition to working with partner NBFCs and banks.
  • The newly acquired status will enhance the firm’s lending capabilities, enabling it to offer education loans of up to ₹2 crore for various academic disciplines.

Moody’s Predicts India’s GDP Growth to Surpass 6.5% in FY26

  • Moody’s has forecasted that India’s GDP growth will exceed 6.5% in FY26, an increase from the estimated 6.3% in FY25.
  • Key factors driving this growth include higher government capital expenditure, tax reductions, and lower interest rates, which will enhance consumer spending.
  • The rating agency maintains a stable outlook for India’s banking sector.
  • However, there is a concern over asset quality deterioration due to pressure in unsecured retail loans, microfinance loans, and small business loans.
  • Despite these challenges, bank profitability is expected to remain stable as the decline in net interest margins (NIMs) will likely be marginal amidst modest rate cuts.
  • Although India experienced a temporary economic slowdown in mid-2024, its growth momentum has revived, positioning it among the fastest-growing large economies globally.
