The decision to lift the restrictions follows compliance with regulatory guidelines and improved processes by the entities. - SEBI Revises Credit Rating Agency Regulations
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has updated its regulations for credit rating agencies (CRAs) by changing timelines from “days” to “working days” for operational efficiency. Key changes include:- Press Releases: CRAs must publish rating action press releases within seven working days.
- Debt Servicing Delays: Reviews of ratings due to delays in debt servicing are now extended to two working days.
- Issuer Non-Cooperation: Ratings can be tagged as “Issuer Not Cooperating” within five working days if No-Default Statements (NDS) are not submitted for three consecutive months.
- Debt Servicing Confirmation: CRAs are required to confirm debt servicing within one working day of the due date and issue a press release within two working days if confirmation is not received.
- RBI Increases Gold Reserves by 8 Tonnes
In November 2024, the Reserve Bank of India added 8 tonnes of gold to its reserves, raising the total to 876 tonnes. This move makes India the second-largest gold buyer of the year after Poland. - NPCI Introduces Contactless Payment Solutions in Chennai
