PM Modi to Attend Navkar Mahamantra Divas on April 9, 2025

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the Navkar Mahamantra Divas event organized by the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) on April 9, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

  • The event is set to be held just before Mahavir Jayanti and aims to foster global harmony, spiritual consciousness, and peace.

  • Devotees from more than 108 countries and over 1.08 crore participants are expected to take part by reciting the Navkar Mahamantra.

  • The initiative will be conducted at more than 6,000 locations across India and globally to promote values like non-violence, ethical conduct, and tolerance.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana Reaches ₹32.6 Lakh Crore Credit Milestone in a Decade

  • April 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), which was launched to offer institutional credit to small-scale, non-corporate and non-agricultural enterprises.

  • Over the past decade, more than 52 crore loans have been distributed under the scheme.

  • The total sanctioned credit has reached a staggering ₹32.61 lakh crore.

Haryana Announces 20% Reservation for Agniveers in Police Force

  • Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has declared a 20% reservation for Agniveers in Haryana Police, making Haryana the first Indian state to offer such a benefit.

Ministry of Defence Signs ₹2,385 Crore Deal with BEL for Mi-17 V5 Copter Upgrades

  • The Ministry of Defence has finalized a ₹2,385.36 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bengaluru.

  • The agreement includes the procurement of Electronic Warfare (EW) Suites and aircraft modification kits for Indian Air Force’s Mi-17 V5 helicopters.

  • The contract falls under the ‘Buy Indian – IDDM’ category and was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

  • The EW suites are expected to enhance the combat readiness and survivability of the helicopters.

New Naval Base for Nuclear Submarines Planned Near Vizag

  • India is preparing to operationalize a strategically critical naval base for nuclear-powered submarines near Rambilli, Andhra Pradesh, by next year.

  • The location is about 50 kilometers from the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam and includes underground facilities to house submarines.

  • India is also continuing to develop the Karwar base on the western coast, signaling a strong counter to China’s growing presence in the Indian Ocean.
