Japan Moves to Recognize Crypto Assets as Financial Products
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) plans to amend its Financial Instruments and Exchange Act to give cryptocurrencies official status as financial products.
This proposed change aims to tighten regulatory oversight and introduce safeguards, such as insider trading restrictions, for cryptocurrency dealings.
The legislation could be submitted to the Japanese parliament as early as 2026.

AI-Based Multilingual Grievance Redressal System Introduced for CPGRAMS
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), in collaboration with Digital India Bhashini, has launched an advanced AI-powered grievance redressal system.
This system supports multimodal and multilingual input, allowing citizens to file complaints in 22 regional languages through voice or text.
It aligns with the Prime Minister’s goal of making governance more inclusive, accessible, and citizen-focused.
DARPG and Bhashini Aim for Full Rollout by July 2025
DARPG and Bhashini are working to launch the full-fledged version of the AI-powered grievance system on CPGRAMS by July 2025.
Powered by Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP), the system will automate complaint categorization, enhance citizen interaction, and accelerate grievance resolution.
This project supports the broader goals of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, promoting AI-led governance innovations.
Punjab Plans to Develop Nangal as Tourist Destination and Launch First Leopard Safari
The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has launched initiatives to elevate the state’s tourism and wildlife offerings.
Nangal will be developed into a major tourist attraction with an initial investment of ₹10 crore.
The Jhajjar Bachauli Wildlife Sanctuary in Sri Anandpur Sahib will be turned into Punjab’s first dedicated leopard safari.
These developments are part of the 2025-26 ‘Badalda Punjab’ Budget, presented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.
Special funding has also been allocated to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

Sunil Kakkar Named Whole-Time Director at Maruti Suzuki India Limited
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has brought in Sunil Kakkar as the new Director.
His term begins on April 1, 2025, and extends to March 31, 2028.
Kakkar brings more than 35 years of experience, having served in key leadership positions like Senior Executive Officer – Corporate Planning and Head of Supply Chain & Gurgaon Production Operations.
He played a pivotal role in developing supply chains, driving strategic localisation, and establishing joint ventures in areas such as AMT technology, plastic fuel tanks, and high-tensile sheet metals.

Japanese mathematician Masaki Kashiwara has won the prestigious 2025 Abel Prize, awarded by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.
He is honored for his significant contributions to the fields of algebraic analysis and representation theory.
Kashiwara, now 78, is especially recognized for pioneering work on D-modules and crystal bases.
The Abel Prize, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of Mathematics,” was instituted in 2002 and named in memory of mathematician Niels Henrik Abel.

Hurun Global Rich List 2025: Shanghai Becomes Asia’s Billionaire Capital
According to the Hurun Global Rich List 2025, India is the third-highest in terms of billionaire count with 284 billionaires.
The collective net worth of Indian billionaires grew by 10%, totaling ₹98 lakh crore.
Shanghai has now overtaken Mumbai as Asia’s city with the most billionaires—92 in Shanghai versus 90 in Mumbai.
Among the Indian billionaires, 175 saw an increase in wealth, while 109 saw either a decline or no change.
Notably, India has seven billionaires under the age of 40, with the youngest being 34 years old, primarily from Bengaluru and Mumbai.
