India Becomes World’s Second-Largest Tea Exporter in 2024
India overtook Sri Lanka to become the second-highest global tea exporter, following Kenya.
Exported volume in 2024 stood at 254 million kg, an increase from 231 million kg in 2023.
The total earnings from tea exports reached ₹7,112 crore, signaling a significant boost for the sector.
Kenya maintained its top spot with exports exceeding 500 million kg.
CDS Gen Anil Chauhan Opens Techkriti 2025 at IIT Kanpur
Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan inaugurated Techkriti 2025, Asia’s largest tech and startup event, hosted by IIT Kanpur.
The event’s theme was “Panta Rhei” (meaning “Everything Flows”).

Government to Launch ‘Sahkar’ – A Cooperative-Based Taxi Platform
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah introduced ‘Sahkar’, a cooperative-run taxi service model, aimed at challenging Ola and Uber.
This service empowers drivers as co-owners, offering equitable income and profit-sharing.
It aligns with the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and supports the ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ vision of strengthening India’s cooperative movement.

Her net worth surged following the inheritance of a 47% stake in HCL Technologies from her father, Shiv Nadar.
