  • Scandia highlighted the immense potential of 6G technology in driving economic advancement and fostering innovation. He remarked that India, with its substantial talent pool of engineers and software professionals, is well-positioned to take advantage of the growing emphasis on software-driven technologies.
  • He further stated that India aims to contribute 10% of global 6G patents through its Bharat 6G Alliance, underlining the country’s ambitions to be a leader in the 6G era.

Cabinet Approves 3% DA Hike for Central Govt Employees

  • The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved a 3% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees and pensioners, bringing the DA to 53% of basic pay.
  • Announced by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, this decision, which takes effect from July 1, 2024, will cost the government an estimated ₹9,448.35 crore annually.
  • The move is set to benefit approximately 49.18 lakh employees and 64.89 lakh pensioners, offering relief from rising inflation.

  • Nayab Singh Saini took the oath as Chief Minister of Haryana for a second time, marking the BJP’s third consecutive term in the state.
